I have read several reviews on lowers including some about M1 Machining (www.80percents.com), and I must admit I was a little skeptical placing my order. These days it is hard to know who is a legit business and who is just trying to scam you out of your hard earned money and seeing how many companies offier 80% lower receivers, I can imgaine there are some bad companies trying to take advantage. What I read on M1 Machining was not them trying to steal peoples money, but there product had a few issues. Now reading the review, I do feel there was some bias going on but still I believed most of what I was reading. So like a good researcher that I am, I went to M1 Machining's website and looked around. I did see some very good reviews on there website and some reviews that were not bad, but more constructive criticism. So doing my due diligence, I placed my order for 1 AR10 80% lower receiver. When I ordered my AR10, it was on back order. They stated it was going to take 10 business days to ship my part and I was ok with that as I have not gotten my upper or other parts needed to finish it. So the 10 business days came and went and I did not get a tracking number or anything. I gave them a call and left a voicemail. I am a little persistent and sent them an email right after and I believe it was a Thursday. I did not get a response until Saturday mid day. That really does not bother me because try sending Ebay or other large compaies an email and see if they even respond. They informed me that the shipping department had my part and I should have tracking later that day. So I went on my merry little way and I got an email late Saturday evening. Tuesday comes and my package was in the mail. I must say that I like there packing of the receiver. It came with a custom M1 box and a free set screw dowel pin for the bolt catch. That is a really nice feature I never really thought of. I must say
I am pretty impressed with the quality of this part. I finished it out (with a minor blemish in the rear take down pocket) and matched it up to my DPMS 308 upper and it looks great! I have built 3 lowers now from different companies and I must say this is my favorite. Another cool note, a lot of folks charge shipping with their lowers which can be anywhere from 8$ to 15$ and M1 ships for free which makes them one of the least expensive billet lowers on the market. So my finally thouhts about doing business with M1 Machining is this. They sold me a beautiful 80% AR10 lower receiver for a great price. They need to do better on there shipping time frame but to me it is well worth the wait. I have and will continue to recommend them to everyone I know.
